File Attachment

A step-by-step guide to add and configure the file upload option.

With this option, you can let your customers add files of their choice. They can upload their designs, images, graphic files, font files, audio files, compressed files, or any custom files.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to add a file upload option:

Step 1: Go To The Add Options

You can add the file upload option to either a completely new option set or an existing one. You can learn to create a new option set in another part. For now, we will discuss how to add the file upload option to an existing option set.

• Go to an existing option set.

• Click the Edit option to open it.

• Click the “Add option” button.

• Select the “File Attachment” option under Inputs.

Step 2: Configure the File Attachment Option 

After adding the File Attachment option, configure the available settings according to how you want customers to upload files. 

1. Option Title: Enter the name or label of the file attachment option that customers will see.

2. Help Text: Add additional instructions or guidance to help customers understand what files they should upload.

3. Required Field: Enable this option if customers must upload a file before they can add the product to their cart. When enabled, customers cannot proceed without uploading a file.

4. File Prefix: Enter a prefix that will be used as the cart line-item property key. If left blank, the option title will be used as the key.

5. Option Description: Add additional information or details about the file attachment option. This can be used to explain the purpose of the upload field or provide extra instructions to customers.

6. Attachment Price: Set an additional fixed price that will be added when the customer attaches a file. The extra charge applies when a file is attached.

7. Maximum File Size: Set the maximum file size, in MB, that customers are allowed to upload. The available limit depends on your plan.

8. File Type: Choose the type of files that customers are allowed to upload. You can select from the following file types:

• Image Files: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, svg

• Document Files: txt, doc, docx, odt, pdf, rtf, ods, xlr, xls, xlsx, csv, ppt, pptx

• Graphics Files: ai, eps, psd, cdr

• Font Files: ttf, otf, woff, woff2

• Audio Files: mp3, wav

• Compressed Files: zip, rar, 7z, gz, tar

• Custom Files: Allow customers to upload custom file types.

Step 3: Personalize The Appearance

After you are done with the essential settings, scroll down to find the “Additional Settings." Optionia lets you style each option however you like.

1. Title color: Choose the color for the option title text.

2. Description color: Choose the color for the option description text.

3. Border color: Set the color of the border around the option elements.

4. Border radius: Set the roundness of the option element corners.

5. Border thickness: Set the thickness of the option element border.

6. Button background: Choose the background color for the in-option button.

7. Button text: Set the text color of the in-option button.

8. Button hover background: Choose the background color displayed when the customer hovers over the button.

9. Button hover text: Set the text color displayed when the customer hovers over the button.

10. Help text style: Choose where the help text appears in relation to the option element, such as above the option element.

11. Show price on option values: Enable this option to display the price along with each option value.

Save, Discard, and Delete

When editing an option, you can use Save, Discard, or Delete to manage your changes and the option.

1. Save: Click Save to save all changes made to the option.

2. Discard: Click Discard to cancel all unsaved changes and return to the last saved version.

3. Delete: Click Delete to remove the option from the option set.

Apply Option set to options

You can find the “Product Assignment” option at the bottom of every option set, from where you can apply the option set to any one of the three product categories.

To Assign an Option Set

1. Open the Option Set.

2. Scroll down to Product Assignment.

3. Select one of the available assignment methods.

• All Products: Select All Products to apply the Option Set to all products in your store.

• Manually Select Products: Select Manually Select Products when you want to choose specific products to which the Option Set should be applied.

• Select Products with Conditions: Select Select Products with Conditions when you want to apply the Option Set based on specific product conditions automatically.

You can use the available conditions to determine which products should receive the Option Set.

Once the File Attachment option is configured, the Option Set is active, and the Option Set has been assigned to the appropriate products, customers can upload files directly on your product pages.
